my story so far...
Hello there! Welcome to my website. My name is Larisa Santiago, I am a singer-songwriter based in Toronto, Canada, but I was born and raised in Brazil. I have always wanted to sing and perform since I was little. When I was in Elementary School, I joined the choir and took Ballet and Jazz classes.
At the age of 17, I left Brazil for British Columbia, Canada to study and improve my English. After high school I moved east to attend the University of Toronto, graduating with a degree in International Relations. While working day jobs, I was learning the music business, writing songs and taking vocal lessons. My passion for music is a strong force that I cannot resist.
I also have always had a strong draw for languages. Now living in multicultural Toronto, I use my fluency in four languages - English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian - to meet and work with a wide variety of people in the music industry. My linguistic skills are now part of my brand as an artist and songwriter. In 2018 I recorded my first English pop song "Home" with producer Trey Mills. The recording, released in 2019, evolved from an original song written by me.
In 2019 I signed on as a songwriter with The Pangaea Music House owned by my long time mentor and industry veteran Tony Tobias. In early 2019 I also joined forces with Toronto based, Latin Music producer Medylandia (Alx Veliz, “Dancing Kizomba”). The result was “No Soy Tu Niñera”, my first Latin-Urban/Reggaeton single. After NSTN, I came to collaborate with artists from Canada and abroad, including Canadian rapper Troy Junker, Colombian artist Kennan and the Brazilian DJ Prinsh.
For 2024, I am planning on delving more into the world of Pop and EDM, as an independent singer-songwriter, through my own music production and songwriting in English. Sign up to my mailing list if you would like to stay in touch!
